Allan MacDonald, Canadian Tire’s EVP of Retail, speaks about the changing retail landscape and why Canadian Tire continues to succeed.
Allan MacDonald is the Executive Vice-President, Retail, overseeing CTC’s 1,700 retail and gasoline outlets across its Canadian retail businesses, including Canadian Tire Retail, SportChek, Mark’s and Helly Hansen, as well as Consumer Brands, Digital and Marketing.
In a rapidly evolving retail marketplace, Allan has led Canadian Tire’s transformation to become a more product and brand-led Company. He has simultaneously guided CTC into the future of digital and eCommerce by focusing on operational performance management and sustained, profitable growth, including the development of Triangle Rewards, the evolution of the iconic Canadian Tire Money program.
Prior to his current role, Allan held a variety of senior positions within the corporation including President of Canadian Tire Retail, Senior Vice-President of the Automotive Division, Chief Marketing Officer and Vice-President of Corporate Strategy.
Over the course of his career, Allan has held senior roles at Bell Canada, Aliant Inc. and British Telecom in the United Kingdom.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Acadia University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Henley Management College in England.
Having grown up in Cape Breton, Allan is a Maritimer at heart. He has a passion for cars and the outdoors and likes to spend as much time as possible with his wife and two young sons.
